PDO Threads

PDO Mono Threads Perth

A non-surgical way to help tighten, lift and overall skin rejuvenation

PDO therapy is an effective non-surgical cosmetic technique that lifts and tighten sagging skin tissues initially with the threads and then by inducing collagen production. By using a variety of PDO threads, we can stimulate volume, repositioning and tightening of the skin. Sagging skin can become firmer with a more regular contour, and facial features can be elevated to a more youthful position.

Why Use PDO Threads?

As we age, the face naturally loses collagen and elasticity, bone structures change, volume is lost and decreased collagen and poor skin elasticity can lead to sagging cheeks and a tired, aged look. PDO therapy is an effective cosmetic technique that lifts and tighten sagging skin tissues by inducing collagen production.

Before & Afters

Frequently Asked Questions

What are PDO Threads?

PDO therapy is an effective non-surgical cosmetic technique that lifts and tightens sagging skin tissues initially with the threads and then by inducing collagen production. It involves the implantation of fine, absorbable polydioxanone threads (similar to those used in medical suturing) into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using small needles. These threads remain implanted in the skin causing micro-injuries that stimulate collagen synthesis and tissue contraction. After six months, the threads will be absorbed into the body leaving new collagen in their place.

How do PDO Threads tighten the skin?

They induce natural collagen production, which creates a tightening effect. This effect lasts for 6-12 months. Results may be seen in 6 weeks and will continue to improve over 2 to 6 months. While the threads slowly dissolve, their effects may last up to 12 months.

When will I see results and how long do they last?

Results can be seen immediately with optimum from 8-12 weeks, lasting up to 12 months. This of course is dependent on the self-care of the patient. For example: Radical changes in weight or general health will of course impact longevity.

Does the procedure hurt? Numbing?

Here at FAB, we offer both topical anaesthetic cream or a local anaesthetic block (dental block) to minimise any discomfort for our patients. You may experience a firm feeling and some tenderness in the area that has been treated for a few days after the procedure.
