PDO Cog Threads are a new addition to the Matrix PDO Thread range. They are a non-surgical way to lift and improve lower facial folds.

A new type of thread that sits between; PDO Mono Threads & Barbed Lifting Threads

PDO Cog Threads are inserted into the marked area of the mid to lower face, once inserted the threads are gently pulled & trimmed to create your desired lifting effect.

Like PDO Mono Threads, Cog Threads activate collagen synthesis which produces a gradual skin thickening, skin tightening and rejuvenation effect for up to 12 months. 

Like PDO Mono Threads, they induce natural collagen production, which creates a tightening effect, however, PDO Cog Threads provide an additional lifting effect through the lower face.

Results may be seen immediately but will continue to improve over 2 to 6 months. While the threads slowly dissolve, their effects may last up to 12 months.

The number of Cog Threads required will vary patient to patient, however as a guide we say; approximately 6-18 threads are per side, 12-32 total. 

It’s important to note; these threads are not a stand alone treatment, they are used in conjunction with PDO Mono Threads or dermal fillers for the lower face.

Generally, the results last up to 12 months. This of course is dependent on the self-care of the patient. For example: Radical changes in weight or general health will of course impact longevity.

Patients may see results instantly with full effects at 8 – 12 weeks. Results can be expected to improve over time.

We use a local anesthetic block before your Cog Thread treatment, so you experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. You may experience a firm feeling and some tenderness in the area that has been treated for a few days after the procedure.

+ Avoid Alcohol and smoking
+ Schedule procedure at least 1 week prior to a special occasion or event
+ Avoid taking anti-inflammatory (consult Doctor prior, if necessary)

Downtime:

+ Mild bruising and swelling is to be expected and will resolve in a few days.

+ May be mild tenderness in the treated area for approximately one week.

Aftercare:

+ Ice may be applied to sooth area of treatment.

+ Not oil-based moisturiser or make-up for the next 24 hours.

+ Try to sleep on your back and elevate your head for the first 3 nights.

+ Apply make-up gently for 5 days.

+ No facials or face massages for 3 weeks.

+ Avoid strenuous exercise or contact sports for 3 weeks.

+ Avoid exaggerated facial movements like chewing, talking or yawning for 3 weeks.

+ No dental surgery for 4 weeks.

+ Avoid laser treatments in area for 4 weeks.

+ Avoid saunas or heat treatments for 3 weeks

The cost is dependent on the number of threads required for an optimal result for each individual, however, as a guide we say; 6-18 threads are required per side, 12-32 total | $720 – $2160.
